Reviews You Can Actually Trust
Finding honest advice about fitness gear is harder than it should be. Most reviews online are either paid promotions or written by people who never touched the product. At Fit-Strive, we research every product in depth, compare it against real alternatives, and study what genuine buyers say after months of use — then give you a clear, honest verdict. No hype, no inflated ratings, just straight answers.

How We Review
We want to be straight with you about our method, because it affects how much weight you should give our opinion. Fit-Strive is a research-led site. We are not a lab, and we do not receive free samples from brands. Here is exactly what we do.
We start with the specifications
Motor power, build materials, resistance range, battery life, weight capacity, warranty length. These are measurable facts, and they tell you more about whether something will last than any marketing copy will.
We read the negative reviews first
Five-star reviews tell you very little. The useful information is in the two- and three-star reviews from verified buyers, particularly ones written months after purchase. When the same complaint appears again and again, that’s a real pattern, and we report it.
We say when we do not know
Long-term durability is hard to judge from research alone. Where we cannot answer something with confidence, we say so plainly rather than filling the gap with a guess.
What We Review
We focus on the gear that actually matters for your training:
- Home Gym Equipment – Resistance bands, dumbbells, benches, pull-up bars, and everything you need to train without a gym membership.
- Fitness Trackers & Tech – Smartwatches, heart rate monitors, and apps that help you measure real progress, not just count steps.
- Workout Accessories – Lifting belts, straps, gloves, foam rollers, and the small tools that make a big difference.
- Apparel & Footwear – Training shoes, gym wear, and gear built to last through heavy use.
Why Trust Fit-Strive?
We’re not a retailer, and we don’t accept payment for positive reviews. Our only job is to point you toward gear that’s actually worth your money.
Yes, we earn a small commission if you buy through some links on our website — that’s how we keep the site running. But that commission is the same whether we praise a product or tear it apart. Our opinions are never for sale.
We update our reviews regularly as products change, prices shift, and better alternatives hit the market. If we got something wrong, tell us — we’ll fix it.
What We Don't Do
- We don’t claim to have physically tested products we haven’t used.
- We don’t take payment from brands to rank higher or review favourably.
- We don’t recommend a product just because it pays a higher commission.
- We don’t hide the downsides to make a sale more likely.
Fitness Trackers & Smartwatches
A tracker is only worth wearing if you actually wear it. That rules out a surprising number of them — the ones that need charging every second day, the ones too bulky to sleep in, the ones whose app is so slow you stop opening it.
When we look at trackers we care most about battery life, wrist-based heart rate accuracy during actual movement rather than at rest, and whether the app gives you data you can act on or just a wall of numbers.
Who it suits: Anyone building a consistent walking, running or gym habit who wants sleep and step data they will actually look at.
What stands out: Long battery life, a screen that stays readable outdoors, and an app that surfaces trends rather than burying them.
Worth knowing: Heart rate accuracy drifts during high-intensity intervals — a common limitation of wrist sensors generally. If you train by heart rate zones, pair it with a chest strap.
Skip it if: You need built-in GPS for running without your phone, or you want detailed strength-training metrics.
Questions We Get Asked
Do you physically test the products you review?
No, and we think you should know that. Fit-Strive is research-led: we analyse specifications, compare products within their category, and study patterns across verified buyer reviews. Where we have used something ourselves, we say so explicitly in that review.
Can I suggest a product for review?
Yes, and we read every message. Email hello@fit-strive.com with what you are looking at and what you are unsure about. Questions from readers shape a lot of what we cover next.
